We are excited to announce the arrival of our new bears!

To better support grieving families, we now offer 8" and 12" Pouch Bears! These bears are designed in the same style as our Baby Loss Bears but have a discreet zipper pocket in the back, making them ideal for holding keepsakes or adding weight for comfort.

8" Pouch Bears are available free of charge to our hospital and community partners and can also be purchased by individual families in our online shop.

12" Pouch Bears provide extra space for keepsakes or weight and are available for purchase exclusively through our website. Hospital and community partners interested in receiving 12" Pouch Bears by donation can contact us by email.

12" Pouch Bears provide extra space for keepsakes or weight and are available for purchase exclusively through our website. Hospital and community partners interested in receiving 12" Pouch Bears by donation can contact us by email.

Each Pouch Bear is partially stuffed and shipped with an empty pouch, giving families the option to customize their bear in a way that best supports their grief journey.

Our Early Loss Bears are now 6 inches instead of 5 inches for individual families who have experienced miscarriage or early pregnancy loss. Hospitals and community partners will continue to receive our 5" Early Loss Bears.

We will continue to provide our fully stuffed 8" Baby Loss, NICU, and Infertility Bears to families and community partners.

If you recently requested a free bear, please note:

You are now on our waitlist. When we are preparing to ship your bear, you will receive an email with a private link to our Bear Confirmation Form. This is where we will collect your address and determine which type of bear best fits your needs.

Free bear requests are a two-step process. Please check your inbox and spam for messages from [email protected].

We are officially caught up on free requests!

We’re happy to share that all free bear requests submitted before the end of October have been fulfilled. If you requested a bear before then and haven’t received it, please double check your email to make sure you’ve completed the Bear Confirmation Form. This step is required before we can ship your bear.

Expedite Your Free Bear Request

We now offer free 8-inch Pouch Bears on our Hospital Request Form

Because of size and material costs, we’re currently able to send the 8-inch Pouch Bears free of charge to our hospital and community partners. The 12-inch Pouch Bears are available by donation (email us for more information).

Please be aware: the inside zipper pouch for both Pouch Bears sizes is smaller than we anticipated. The approximate weight capacity per filler type is:

  • Rice: 8.8 oz (8") / 14.1 oz (12")
  • Bean bags: 8.9 oz (8") / 14.3 oz (12")
  • Poly-pellets: 9 oz (8") / 14.4 oz (12")
  • Aquarium gravel: 12.5 oz (8") / 24 oz (12")

We’re so sorry that the current Pouch Bears cannot yet be filled to match full-term infant weights. We sincerely appreciate your feedback and patience as we work on improving the design for our next large order of bears.

We appreciate your patience while we work through your requests

We are experiencing a high volume of orders and are sending out bears as quickly as our budget allows. While our bears are always provided free of cost, any donation, no matter the amount, helps us minimize wait times and continue supporting families in need

Individual Free Requests:
Please accept our deepest condolences.
Due to an overwhelming number of requests, there will be a longer-than-usual wait time for individual free bears. We appreciate your patience as we work as quickly as possible to fulfill each request with care.
If you would like to receive your bear sooner, and you have not yet received a free bear from Project B.E.A.R., consider expediting your request for priority shipping.
Due to the recent increase in tariffs, the cost of importing our bears has risen significantly. In order to preserve our current supply and ensure we remain operational while we work to finalize our next large bear order, we will be slowing down the rate at which we send out bears.
Please know: we are not ending our free bear program. Your comfort matters deeply to us, and our mission to support grieving families remains unchanged. This adjustment will allow us to continue fulfilling that mission sustainably.
If you are in a position to help, every donation, no matter the amount, goes directly toward getting bears into grieving arms. We are so grateful for your understanding and continued support during this time of transition.
