Project B.E.A.R. was founded in memory of Jeremiah Joseph Spering, who was stillborn at 37 weeks on April 17, 2008 and Vincent Joseph Spering who was born June 2, 2009, and passed away June 15, 2009.
The loss of our sons has helped us to more fully realize God’s great sacrifice in giving up his own Son to save us. We draw strength from our son’s namesake verse Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” We know that God loves us unconditionally even though we have done nothing to deserve it. The knowledge that we will one day hold our children again fills us with hope.
We in turn endeavor to provide some comfort to those who suffer a similar loss and let them know they are not alone.
Project B.E.A.R. gives teddy bears to anyone grieving the loss of a baby. Bears are donated through hospitals or directly to individuals who request them. There is no charge for the bears. If you would like to support Project B.E.A.R. to help us continue to provide free bears, simply click the Support Project BEAR link to the left.
We believe that every child is a precious blessing, no matter how short their time with us and whether or not we got to hold them in our arms or just in our hearts.
