Project B.E.A.R. sends free teddy bears to families in the U.S. who've experienced the loss of a baby, are facing infertility, or have a child in the NICU and to the hospitals and organizations that support them.
Project B.E.A.R. was founded in memory of Jeremiah Joseph Spering, who was stillborn at 37 weeks on April 17, 2008 & Vincent Joseph Spering, who was born June 2, 2009 and passed away June 15, 2009.
We draw strength from our son’s namesake verse Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” The knowledge that we will one day hold our children again fills us with hope.
We in turn endeavor to provide some comfort to those who suffer a similar loss and let them know they are not alone.
Project B.E.A.R. sends free teddy bears to families and organizations who request them. Our bears provide tangible comfort and support to families navigating the challenging path of loss, infertility, or a NICU journey.
Anyone suffering the pain of a child's absence is welcome to a bear.
To better support grieving families, we now offer 8" and 12" Pouch Bears. In the same style as our Baby Loss Bears, these bears have a discreet zipper pocket in the back, making them ideal for holding keepsakes or adding weight for comfort. Pouch Bears are available by donation for individual families.
If you filled out the Request a Free Bear Form, you are now on our waitlist. When we’re preparing to ship your bear, you’ll receive an email with a private link to the Bear Confirmation Form, where we collect your address and confirm your bear type. Free bear requests are a two-step process.
8" Pouch Bears are now available free of charge to hospitals and community partners. 12" Pouch Bears can be requested by donation. Our standard bears are still available by request.
